The Game is the Best Teacher

Let the children enjoy free play as much as possible and allow them to make their own decisions resolving technical and tactical problems during the match. Over time, and with positive coaching at logical stopping points, they will learn to identify and resolve difficult situations with great skill. As in life, parents will not always be there to guide them. Over-coaching and over-governing environments detract from the developmental experience.

Develop the Individual Player

The player comes first. There is no team without a quality group of individuals. Our goal is to reach every single player involved with a valuable growth experience developing their talents as a player and a person. Our mentoring and personal training are targeted at helping children appreciate the commitment required to achieve the highest possible level of personal performance while maintaining the aspects of integrity, self esteem, respect for others, team play, and enjoyment.

Respect Diversity's Value

Our program welcomes players of all ages and backgrounds. We believe in challenging and learning from one another. While every player is created equal, they have different approaches and characteristics which make them unique. Our program respects and emphasizes diversity of approach and honors the different styles of play and different stages of development.

Honesty and Integrity Win the Day

We require children to referee their own pick up matches and training scrimmages. They also provide peer feedback to one another. Their judgment is developed through actual experience and governed by the other players as decisions are made during the flow of play. Leaders emerge and are supported by their teammates.

Growth through Fellowship

The integrity of the ZenFooty community is sealed by the fellowship of its members. The joy of the game and the fun of collaborating with friends and neighbors extends the experience to the off field environment. We believe that fellowship strengthens the infrastructure of the team or club and its support system. Therefore we extend our reach into the fellowship area where appropriate.

Be a Trusted Resource

Collaborate with area clubs and organizations to provide the best possible training services and information available to the children aiding in their development regardless of their home affiliation. This means offering individual training and extending invitations to children from any and all area clubs. It also means providing informational resources such as training tips, newsletters, and videos. Availability to answer questions from the players is core to our mission whether they are directly soccer related or just developmental.
