ZenFooty Breakfast Club - It Rocks! Published on Tue 06/16/2009 | 10 total comments
Hey All!! We have launched the ZenFooty Breakfast Club for the third year running!! On our initial day we had a record start of 33 people come out for the event. Breakfast club is about footspeed and fitness. We train from 8:00AM to 9:00AM. Then we break out into pick-up games and play for another hour. After that, we play world cup soccer from 10:00 to 11:00 or so. It is a fun-filled morning and we do it EVERY weekday. In my opinion, this is the REAL thing about soccer; kids playing with no restrictions and trying out their stuff!! I enjoy watching the tricks, the skills, the friendships and the leadership as they emerge. Our goal this year is to get 100 players out every morning training, playing, laughing, and enjoying all the game has to offer. Breakfast club is for all ages so come on out and bring your running shoes, energy drink, and your soccer shoes (and shin guards). We are at Ty Warner Park in Westmont Illinois!! So, I ask you, is there really enough free play, funtime, and fitness in today's soccer world. ZenMaster says we need more of this. What say you? And for you players that have been coming out, do you like it? I want to hear what you think?

| | I completely agree. This is a great program and if your
player likes soccer, why not? The one thing that I noticed
in the spring is that a lot of players did not have the
conditioning necessary to play a full game. Some players
expect to have a sub replace them every few minutes, which I
believe isn't the right answer. All players should
expect/want to play a full game. Why not? Soccer and being
in shape go hand in hand. Although it is hard work, the
sense of accomplishment, physical superiority, and health
make the work well worth it. Besides it beats sitting
around the house in the morning wondering what to do,
doesn't it? So, what's keeping your player from attending?
Carpooling can help ease the transportation to and from the
fields, you might want to mention it to other parents that
live in your area. | |

| | Hey Joe!! I am with you 100% - We have had the first 2
sessions and are averaging 30 players per session. Our goal
is 100 players out there every day. Yes I am a dreamer and
have been called many other things but there is NO denying
that when we get it going in the morning as a group, there
is a special spirit in the air!! I especially love the fact
that there are players of all ages and from many different
club teams out there working out together!! | |

| | Scott loves breakfast club, couldn't get him up for school
all year, but monday he had his alarm set and was up early
ready to go. He even rides his bike there so he can stay
for the pick up games. He also can't wait for the summer
nights to start. | |

| | Attendance at Super Liga was announced at 8,400. From the
replays I saw, I am guessing much less. I did not even know
that the game was on that day, so either I am clueless or
the marketing of the game was lacking. I have never met
someone who claimed to from San Luis Potosi, so perhaps no
fan base in Chicago. Usually the Mexican teams teams draw a
huge crowd. | |
